Discussion:
Is there any way to make the Edit tab the default tab for tickets rather than the View tab?

We just started using Agilo w/Trac. The users are annoyed that they
now have to click a second tab - is there any way to customize the gui
to either not use the view tab at all, or have the edit tab as the
default when viewing a ticket?

the easiest way is to append pane=edit to the url, if you have generated links. If you want to change the templates you will have to do some more work.

My users are annoyed at this too.
They just want to use the Trac ticket way if possible.
Has anyone implemented a patch for this?

Thanks

How about just one unified view/edit page like Trac has by default? I often
need to reference comments and other updates when making an update, and
often close the ticket while making an update, and I can't do all this from
one unified page. It's quite a pain.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Currently there is no plan for this but we are discussing the feature internally.
I will keep you updated.

+1 for having edit as the default tab. It's "just" one click but if
your main work is to edit tickts it sums up a lot.

Hope to see this soon.

Initially we were annoyed by that change too. However, as it stands, if
the default tab were edit, then you wouldn't be able to see ticket comments
and reading a ticket is the more common case of editing a ticket so that
might be more annoying. A single view that was mentioned above seems ideal
but I don't think have the edit pane as the default would be.

Our users are disgruntled about the split view/edit as well. Throw our hat
in the ring for the standard Trac unified view as well!
