Discussion:
[Agilo for Trac] Agilo does not work with Trac 1.0.2

After updating from Trac 1.0.1 to recently released *Trac 1.0.2* I get
errors when visiting a project start page. The errors are from the Agilo
plugin.
I don't have access to the system currently, so I can't provide an error
message now. Of course I can provide this later.

Is Agilo 0.9.13 tested with Trac 1.0.2?
Any other people having the same problem?

Hi,

thanks for the quick response.
I really would appreciate an Agilo update!

Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately Agilo for Trac is not yet tested against Trac 1.0.2, but it
will be soon.
Sorry for the inconvenience

Hi Stefano,

that's great news!

I would also recommend testing with new versions of Apache and friends. I
have recently updated my server running Trac 1.0.1 with latest Agilo (which
worded quite fine so far) from openSUSE 13.1 zu openSUSE 13.2. Agilo became
totally unusable. It takes 45 sec to open a sprint backlog or to open a
ticket (on an even small database with maybe 300 tickets). This could be
related to some performance discussions here on the list (frequently
re-initializations of the plugin, timeouts, etc.). I was not able to verify
which component could cause these issues. It's maybe the new Apache 2.4.10
or changes in Python. Or maybe related to Trac 1.0.1 having troubles with
this new web environment.

So, once Agilo for Trac runs on Trac 1.0.2, I would be happy to check if
the performance problems are gone or if there are more issues.

Thanks!
Ralf
Hi Ralf,
our next sprint will be dedicated to the new Agilo for Trac release.
Cheers,
Stefano

Hi,

just tested the new release 0.9.14 with Trac 1.0.2. It works. Thanks for
the new Agilo release.

However, the performance issues with the Agilo plugin remain on my new
system. As I mentioned, a Linux environment using newer versions of Apache
(2.4), Trac (1.0.2) and Sqlite is currently unusable due to very long load
times. The same hardware but with an older distribution (Apache 2.2, Trac
1.0), runs smoothly and quick. I guess there is something strange with
proper timing and integration of the (newer) components. If you are
interested in this, I can provide more info, e.g. the output of the "about"
page etc.

Cheers
Ralf

Setuptools 5.4 - 5.6 created some performance issues for trac. There should be a warning in the logs from using those versions, and it's best to avoid them.

The performance issues are limited to cases where the Agilo plugin is
activated. Trac projects without activated Agilo plugin are fast.

Hi Stefano,

yes, I will provide the info and come back to you soon. I think that I
should create a new thread about this.

Thanks for your feedback.
Ralf

can you please try and run the same project you are having problems with
in isolation, without Apache, using Trac’s standalone server? [...]
