[Agilo for Trac] Having Trouble Getting Agilo VM to Boot on ESXi vSphere Server

I am trying to do a quick proof-of-concept with the Agilo VM:

agilo-pro-1.3.12-appliance.zip

I bring it up in VMWare Workstation (I have a 30 day trial license for
it). The VM does come up here.

I then use the following command to export to our ESXi5.1 vSphere server:

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Vmware\Vmware Player\OVFTool

ovftool –ds=datastore3 –nw=”VM Network”
c:\Users\mdear\Downloads\agilo-pro-1.3.12-appliance\agilo-pro-1.3.12-appliance\agilo-pro-appliance-42-1254727479.vmx
vi://root:<pw>@<vsphere-server>

The VM is installed on my vSphere server, but when I attempt to boot it, I
get the following error message:

Network boot from AMD

…

Operating System not found

Any hints on how to get this booting on my ESXi5.1 server ?

Unfortunately we don't support ESXi5.1, but investigating a bit it seems
that this is a known issue.
As described on VMWare community
https://communities.vmware.com/thread/452942, it should be possible
to click "connected" and "connect at power on" in the right top corner in
order to mount the iso properly. After it, just reboot the VM and it should
work

Let me know if you have more issues,
Cheers,

I'm afraid this didn't work.
I didn't see the datastore/ISO beside the "CD/DVD drive 1" device on my
vSphere console, when I clicked "Connect at power on", the VM was still
trying to netboot.
Perhaps I missed an ovftool parameter.

Perhaps I missed an ovftool parameter.
I installed the appliance on Esxi. The problem is that on the resoruces
there were two SCSI virtual hard disks.
I also created the .ovf for the direct deploy (it is attached to this
mail).

The step to make it working are.

- Deploy the virtual machine via ovf (I did using the vsphere client)
- go in "Edit Settings” and remove all SCSI disks
- press “Add” to add a resoruce and choose to ad a SCSI from an existing
dataostore
- click on the datastore1 (which should be the datastore of the appliance)
- select “Agilo Pro Appliance/Agilo Pro Appliance.vmdk”
- after created it go in the option tab
- select “Swap File Location”
- select “swap in the host’s swapfile datastore”

Then if you run the machine everything should be fine.
Let me know if you have more problems.

Cheers,
